PROGRAM GOALS: Transform inactive storefronts into dynamic, interactive art installations Tell Denver neighborhood stories through creative placemaking Increase foot traffic and visitor engagement downtown Support the broader revitalization of 16th Street SCOPE OF WORK: Selected artists will: Design and create interactive storefront installations Incorporate neighborhood storytelling elements Include digital/AR components for visitor engagement Install and maintain work for designated period Participate in documentation and promotion Engage with media and community as needed AVAILABLE OPPORTUNITIES: Number of installations: 6 Budget per installation: $5,000 Timeline: March - June 2024 Future allocations are set aside for additional phases of this program, expanding the number of total artists selected.     Momentum & Milestones On Tuesday, October 8, the Downtown Denver Partnership held its 2024 Annual Meeting, emphasizing a bold future for Downtown Denver amidst current challenges, highlighting the center city’s unwavering resilience, economic potential, and the power of community action. With the two latest completed blocks of 16th Street (from Lawrence to Curtis Streets) as the backdrop, more than 400 business and community leaders gathered to reflect on a year of impact and look ahead at what’s next for Downtown Denver. Hosted in Skyline Park, the Annual Meeting program included a keynote address from Downtown Denver Partnership President & CEO Kourtny Garrett; remarks from Mayor Mike Johnston; and featured presentations from Mary Nguyen (Founder, Olive & Finch Collective), FloraJane DiRienzo (Executive Director, Biennial of the Americas), and Jon Buerge (President, Urban Villages). The Downtown Denver Partnership’s Annual Meeting was made possible through the generous support of Presenting Sponsors Southwest Airlines and DaVita, along with Host Sponsor Polsinelli.
